The Swedish artist Niklas Amundson, born in 1967, grew up on the east coast near Stockholm before moving to the picturesque island of Marstrand on the west coast. Following his father's artistic path, Niklas began painting from a young age. His deep connection to the sea led him to various maritime experiences, from sailing on the S/S Gloria to serving in the Swedish Coast Guard.

In 2011, Niklas took over the renowned Pater Noster lighthouse, just outside Marstrand, where he established a gallery and a small hotel. Inspired by daily life by the windy North Sea, he continuously paints, drawing from past and present experiences. Niklas has exhibited at The Royal Society of Marine Artists, participated in the maiden voyage of the Gothenburg ship, and created the official artwork for the Volvo Ocean Race.

His art can be found in prestigious institutions like The Oceanographic Museum in Monaco and on board the Royal Danish ship Dannebrogen. Niklas's diverse collections include "The Gallery of National Symbols," featuring oil paintings on original sail canvas, capturing the vibrant movement and light in flags. His art is collected worldwide, from Mustique and Monaco to the USA and Scandinavia.

These days, Niklas calls the beautiful island of Mallorca in the Mediterranean his home.  You can see the beautiful surroundings and atmosphere captured in many of his artworks.
